Urban Writ here on Blogspot comes up a lot in the searches although I have redirected the URL to my own hosting.

So you can see the new site at it's original domain: http://urabanwrit.com

The new site is still a place for writers, publishers, link building, directory submissions, and now I have added a lot of conspiracy news or videos that I find interesting or are made by friends. To me that some of the info is deep news that the mainstream will not report on.

Take a look at the new site. I'm pretty sure if you're subscribed you still get the new RSS feed to your inbox.

This will probably be the last update on this blog as I've been building up the one in Word Press. :)

If you grew up or are familiar with Seattle you know about Gas Works Park.

"This 20 acre point on Lake Union was cleared in 1906 to construct a plant to manufacture gas from coal - later converted to crude oil. Import of natural gas in the 1950's made the plant obsolete. The city acquired the site for a park in 1962. The park was opened to the public in 1975. The boiler house has been converted to a picnic shelter with tables, fire grills and an open area. The former exhauster-compressor building, now a children's play barn, features a maze of brightly painted machinery."

Did I read that right? $30 million dollars alone from from ethically illicit marketing campaigns?

So that means we should take Komen's advice and ask Susan G. Komen foundation what percentage of their donations go to where.

The Three R's

This information was handed down to me by an urban-doctor who described the only three rules he has at his house for his children to follow. It should be a way of living for more adults even if you don't have children.

I don't know if he read them somewhere or made them up himself.

The Three R's are:

Respect. Responsibility. Remorse.

Those are the rules most people will ever need. To simplify your life try them out sometime.

These three laws co-mingle with each other. Instead of giving examples I will try to list what each is and see if you can connect the dots.

Respect
Honoring another persons time and energy. Acknowledging another persons perspective. Granting small, reasonable requests. Putting in high regard those around you. Showing courtesy to others without judgment.

Respect is not about what you get, it's about what you give. Respect should not seek to be earned nor should be rewarded.

Responsibility
Knowledge of cause and effect. Knowing that your actions affect others. Knowing that you are the cause of all outcomes positive or negative. Accountability.

Remorse
Having the courage to apologize. Showing empathy. Owning up to past negative behaviors.

Bonus R: Making things Right
Going out of your way and doing everything in your power to get back to a positive state with another person. Exemplifying all of the above!

Do you see how the three R's inter-connect? You really can't have one without the other.

3 Questions to Ask Yourself

What? What? What?

There are three questions you should be asking yourself every single day and they all start with What.

The first question:

What am I?
Not who am I. What am I.

Asking who you are is not the same as what you are. We all have the same two titles somehow and that is you are either a daughter or a son. Other titles include sister, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, mother, great grandfather...and not everyone will share those titles. However you will always share the titles of daughter or son. They are equal. One is female and the other is male.

Not much of a difference is there. That is still who you are and not what you are.

Who you are is the job you have, the clothes you wear and the things you do.

For me when I ask who am I, I am a female with a first and last name, I have a number that represents how many years I've been on the planet, I drive a Mercedes, own some property and use a Hewlett-Packard PC. I'm a film maker, a nutritionist, a counselor, a student, a writer, a publisher and I work for myself to earn a living.

These are some of the things I DO.

What I am is what happens when I strip away all my titles. In simple terms, have you ever read the book or seen the movie Fight Club? A famous line is "You're not your fuckin' khakis." You are also not your debt and that is why they blow up the TWR buildings in the end so that everyone had a clean slate so to speak. For many being linked to an Experian or Equifax credit report somehow represents what people think they are.

What are you then?

You like everyone else started out as a Oneness and then you split. You took motion and replicated and are infinite.

Think of your body like it is a car. You get in it and you drive it. Some people take really good care of their vehicles and other crash and mangle them or never get tune ups or repairs then ask why the vehicle is not performing like it is supposed to. Some cars end up in a scrap heap while others continue along nicely until the owner decides to pick up another vehicle.

There is a comparison that I have found between Christianity and Hinduism. Jesus says to get this life right if not then you get to die. In Hinduism you are to get your life right to reach Nirvana (Heaven) and if you don't you will continue to reincarnate until you do. Is the resurrection of Christ an example of eternal Nirvana if you live your life right?

Now getting back to the question to ask yourself: What am I?

The point is people think they are their religions and beliefs. They think they are what their career dictates or what others tell them they are to them.

Another mistake people make is thinking that others will make you complete. You are responsible for your own happiness and no one can make you happy per say. When you look to others to fulfill that which you think you are, you will be terribly disappointed.

You are a Oneness that split and continued to split and is now Infinite. If you can wrap your head around that then the question is simple. Ask yourself everyday What am I? as a reminder as to what you are. When you grasp that and intuition takes over ask yourself...

What do I know?
What do you know? You know the answer to the first question.

What else do you know? Ask yourself. You know you are One that split and continued to do so. What else do you know? Emotions are physical and physical is not what you are. You operate the machine and you can switch off emotions like a light.

What else do you know?

Here is an example and another movie by comparison (gotta love those late 90's flicks) The Matrix.

What is the matrix? Picture the matrix as a sponge and you as water. This giant sponge tries to suck you up and you get stuck in all the little air pockets and notice...you are not a part of the sponge and you never will be. You will never be cohesive with the sponge. The sponge is just a holding cell if you allow it to be.

Until you know What You Are, and Know What you Know only then can you demand to be released or squeezed out of the sponge.

What is the sponge or the matrix? The matrix are your khakis. Simple.

Know that you can peel what you think you are apart just like an onion and when all the layers are gone what is left? Down to where the last piece of onion appeared to be. That's right not the onion.

Know that you only give existence to certain things. "There is no spoon." There is only a spoon if you say so.

Here is another example of knowing and trying to know: Philosophy Exam

YOU SEE WHAT YOU BELIEVE, YOU DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE.

Now that you know WHAT YOU ARE and WHAT YOU KNOW you can ask yourself...

What do I want?
What DO you want? What do you KNOW to get what you want? When I ask that question and when you do too, do you still want the things that you think define you? Do you still need an iPod or a Mac to define you? Music to let others (who don't know what they are and could care less about you) know what defines you?

Once you answer the first two questions and they start to sink in and you know...you will see how silly all the wants you wanted or already have are no comparison for WHAT YOU ARE or WHAT YOU KNOW and what you REALLY want.

You will want more out of life. When you know certain things it is easier to obtain the things that you want in life. When you align yourself with WHAT YOU ARE and WHAT YOU KNOW...WHAT YOU WANT will be handed to you. All the benefits that come with WHAT YOU WANT will follow.

When you ask people what they want generally people will say something related to love (acceptance) and money (acceptance if you have some).

Let's take money. What is money? You know what money is, it's paper. The matrix of money is acceptance. There is a money reality and that is what money buys you, and you attach yourself to it and there is an actuality of what money is: that is how you use it.

Money is what value you give it. If you give it negative value you are left with debt. If you give it positive conotations and know that money branches out, just like you do and keeps spliting and splitting then you end up with unlimited resources (or money in this case).

If paper paper money disappears there will still be a monetary like system that will be endless.

When you answer the first two questions and are firm on them you will come to KNOW that money is not really what most people want.

Let's take the Law of Attraction for example. Personally I don't like the Law of Attraction and see it as pop-culture and a way to sell alot of spin off products which will be useless to most who purchase them.

If you look at the Law of Attraction and start doing more research and not take it at face value, you will see thare are other alternatives like say the Law of Sucess or the Law of Love.

Here is where the Law of Attraction goes astray for me. If you are a negative person you will always attract what you don't want. You can grin and bear it and deep down inside you will always get what you think you are. Negativity. When you make the concious change to be grateful yes you will start to attract some positives in your life. If that optimism is only on the surface and you haven't dealth with other issues what do you think your going to attract? More of the same.

So the Law of Success is far more attractive and uses the same principals yet has a different outcome. What do you get with the Law of Attraction? What you sow? What do you get with the Law of Sucess? If you work at it and pay attention you will get what sucess means to you and no body else.

You give existence, like the students who acknowledged the chair to what you want or don't want in life.

Sucess seems so much more pleasant than just attracting what you've already got!

Unless it's sucess of course...

Urban Writ officially started in 1998 when I lived in a trendy downtown Seattle neighborhood called Belltown.

It was a way for friends and others to find out what restaurants and clubs I liked or even a way to find me on a Saturday night. Now we have Twitter Mobile for that!

My first official story per say was the week of Sept. 11th 2001 on how the crisis of 9/11 had a physiological affect on people, mainly heightened testosterone in men and a fight-or-flight psychological response in many others. How I came up with that topic is another story that I may reveal it to another human someday...Only one other person knows about it and he is a journalist. Luckily I don't know where he is and now I don't have to kill him.

Since then Urban Writ has been used for marketing, web promotion and web resources and has now landed as a web variety blog on politics, nutrition, marketing, business, art, web entertainment and whatever the hell else I feel like writing about.

I love promoting other peoples stuff online and off. If you have a great cause, business or blog, I'm down with it and here for you!

Belltown is my old stomping ground and my urban sprawl has extended to the the World Wide Web and has been my hood ever since.

Do we really need to believe this? Is this article suggesting that people need intervention?

I've only been around one person who gamed and smoked a lot of pot while they were at it. Is addictive personality really a 'disorder'?

Actually its not. It's a choice. I have seen dedicated drug users quit cold turkey never to return to to their old habits. Usually people grow out of their so called addictions. Some unfortunately do nothing about their daily habits.

The best way to beat a so called addiction is to have something bigger and better in your life. Go back to school, replace your debilitating habit with a new one, change careers if you can, shift your current way of thinking.

There is no such thing as addiction only dependency and the choice to use or not. Drugs, computers, porn and gaming are all forms of escapism. It's victim mentality. It's being on auto pilot or default.

If you believe, and I repeat, believe, you have dependency issues educate yourself. With the right information most people can get around any obstacle.

All the media has to do is report that advanced designs for nuclear war heads were sold on the black market and the US can have another 9/11 all over again.

I'll try to keep Sept. 11th out of this and am not a Bush basher but am starting to question my own disbeliefs. I was a non-believer for a long time that the US could attack itself to start a war to invade the middle east. The more I researched bio-diesel, and unethical cancer research the more oil cartels and the so called war on terrorism came to the forefront. Sadly I'm a believer now!

How come the US has been meddling in the middle east for so long? Ever since Regan we've had to deal with BUSH and Clinton and Bush Jr. and if Hilary were to win Clinton again!

By now you all know what a wiki is and WetPaint has to be one of the easiest to use. Not only is it Wetpaint a wiki, it is a social networking wiki!

All it takes is three steps to get set up and it's 100% free to join!

You can either start your own wiki or contribute to others depending on the settings.

There are options for who is able to edit your wiki. Editors do need to be Wetpaint wiki members but settings include: Everyone (anonymous too!), anyone who joins your wiki or only people that you invite.

Visit WetPaint and see what wikis are being created. Some of the more interesting wikis are: Myspace Hacks, I Love Hello Kitty, and the Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki.

The nice part about WetPaint is the added discussion or threads that are a part of each page.

Providing quality content to your readers is golden and article marketing has been a proven marketing method many times over.

Writing informative articles is not the only way that article marketing will help your business:

1. Free Content

As for me I blog a lot, run several sites and coming up with posts seems impossible some days.

That's when I start to research articles that closely match my sites niche and use them as blog posts.

Email the author of the article and let them know you used their content including a link directly to their article.

2. Newsletters

Use articles to send out in newsletters.

Again I sometimes come up short with ideas for newsletters or would rather delegate the writing to someone else.

Keep your readers engaged by sending out regular newsletters with quality information and articles.

3. Start Your Own Article Directory

There are several ways that you can start your own article directory and one kickback is to make money from advertisements.

If you like your site more personalized you can hire a web designer to create one for you if you don't know how to already.

Search for free software or customizable templates that are actual article directory that you can create.

You can do what I do because I'm big on blogging so I made a mini directory as a part of one of my marketing blogs: Urban Writ

4. Ad Copy

An attention getting article can be used in web or print advertising. Post the article as a teaser and let readers know that they can find 'more information like this' at your website.

5. E-Zines

Search for articles that contain valuable content that your readers can appreciate. Instead of contacting the author to offer a guest spot use a series of their articles over a period of time.

Hidden Perks

Other benefits of using pre-written articles is the use of key phrases. A well written article may rank high for search engines and bring your web site to front page.

Sending the authors some traffic for work they have already done may get you some return traffic from their site.

Readers have the opportunity to deviate from your site by clicking the links in the resource box of the article. Keep in mind the time saved writing can be used to build your business instead.

Urban Writ This Week

If some of you were wondering why I hadn't been blogging over the weekend I was actually ill and not enjoying the wonderful weather on Sunday and Monday. So now I am stuck at home at least until Thursday and have plenty to blog about!

How predictable is Seattle? As long as I can remember it has always rained on the first day of school--the day after Labor Day weekend!

Summer is officially over! I would be surprised if there were any sunny days coming up but we can only hope for a mild winter with no windstorms, power outages or freak blizzards.

Jack McClellan a self proclaimed pedophile is on the loose...but for what? The 45-year-old has not been convicted of any crime. His only wish is to innoccently photograph and watch pre-pubescent girls doing everyday pre-pubescent, little girl things.

Disturbing as it sounds there are no laws, yet, that can put people like this behind bars for immoral thinking.

The thought police did slap him with a temporary restraining order which prohibits him within 30 feet of places where children congregate and he must have signed consent from a parent if he is to publish any photographs he takes of their children.

Through extensive "therapy" in the form of a website entailing where to find, photograph and lurk pre-teen females, he publicaly announces that he cannot stand this "Orwellian" society any longer. Having to leave California because of their oh so strict laws on pedophilia, it's a wonder he can stand all the attention to stop and talk to the press on the streets to let the world know of his public humiliation.

Americans, online no less, are taking seriously how to take intimidation into their own hands!

Recent "blog watch" chatter on the whereabouts of the undetained McClellan caught the attention of a news reporter of the Seattle PI. You can find the article at The Blog Report: Blogs Track Man Who Calls Self a Pedophile

It should be Jack McClellan who is intimidated to walk the streets and not our children!

You can watch one of the bloggers interviewd on the E.D Hill show on Fox News, Tuesday, August 28th at 10am central to talk about locating and tracking down pedophiles.

Another interesting website to fuel the Jack McClellen tale is JackMcClellan.com started to divert attention from Jacks "girl-love" web site and to alert the public there there is a known pedophile lurking somewhere. The question is does anyone know where Jack is?

Wouldn't it be nice if Chris Hansen and the Perverted Justice team can get their sites on him.

By law Jack should stay away from computers while he is at it.
